Application Fee & Payment Mode
To process the offline applications and arrange for audition tests/interviews, a nominal fee is charged by the department.
- General / OBC Candidates: Rs. 354/- (Including GST).
- Payment Mode: The fee must be paid through a Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of "DDO, Doordarshan Kendra, Jammu" payable at Jammu.
- SC / ST / PwD Candidates: Please refer to the official notification for exact fee exemption details. Ensure you attach a valid category certificate if claiming exemption.
Age Limit

- Minimum Age Limit: 21 Years. (Candidates below 21 years of age are strictly not eligible to apply).

Qualification
Eligibility Criteria for Casual Assignees

- For Editorial Roles (News Reader / Copy Editor / Reporter): Candidates must possess a full-time Degree from a recognized university. Additionally, a Degree or Diploma in Journalism / Mass Communication from a recognized institute is mandatory. Command over English, Hindi, and local regional languages (Dogri/Kashmiri) is highly desirable. Prior experience in print or electronic media will be a massive advantage.
- For Technical Roles (Video Editor / Cameraperson): Minimum educational qualification is 10+2 from a recognized Board. However, candidates must hold a professional Degree or Diploma in Videography, Cinematography, or Video Editing. Practical experience in operating professional broadcast cameras and non-linear editing (NLE) setups (like Adobe Premiere Pro or FCP) is strictly required.
- Voice Quality & Screen Presence: Specifically for News Readers and Anchors, a telegenic face, excellent voice modulation, clear diction, and the ability to handle live breaking news situations calmly are crucial prerequisites.
