Important Instructions for Walk-in Interview:

• Candidates must reach venue between 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on 18th February 2026
• Late arrivals after 11:00 AM will NOT be allowed to participate
• Bring all original documents along with one set of self-attested photocopies
• Carry recent passport size photographs (minimum 5 copies)
• Wear formal/professional attire
• Mobile phones must be switched off during interview
• No TA/DA will be provided for attending walk-in interview
• Candidates coming from outside Balangir should plan overnight stay if required
• Accommodation suggestions: Hotels near Balangir town or guest houses

Age Limit and Relaxation Details

Age Criteria (as on 18th February 2026):

Important Notes on Age Limit:

• The upper age limit of 70 years is as per Odisha State Government rules for university teaching positions
• Retired professors/associate professors up to age 70 are eligible for Guest Faculty positions
• Fresh NET/SET qualified candidates (below 30 years) can apply for Assistant Professor and Guest Faculty positions
• Age will be calculated as on the date of walk-in interview (18th February 2026)
• Date of birth as mentioned in 10th/12th certificate will be considered final proof of age

Age Relaxation as per Government of Odisha Rules:

Note: Since the upper age limit is already set at 70 years which is quite liberal, additional relaxations may not significantly impact. However, age relaxation provisions apply as per state government rules for reserved category candidates.

Educational Qualification Requirements

For Professor Position:

Essential Qualifications as per UGC Regulations:

• Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at Master's degree level in relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
• Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• A minimum of ten years of teaching experience in university/college, and/or research experience at university/national level institutions/industries, including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level
• Published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers
• Minimum Research Score of 120 as per UGC Regulations (API Score)
• Experience of guiding Ph.D. students (minimum 2 Ph.D. awarded)

For Associate Professor Position:

Essential Qualifications as per UGC Regulations:

• Good academic record with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) at Master's degree level in relevant subject
• Ph.D. degree in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline
• A minimum of eight years of teaching experience in university/college and/or research experience at university/national level institutions/industries
• Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process
• Minimum Research Score of 75 as per UGC Regulations (API Score)
• Minimum of 7 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals
• Experience in guiding M.Phil./Ph.D. candidates

For Assistant Professor Position:

Essential Qualifications as per UGC Regulations 2018:

• Good academic record as defined by the university with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade) at the Master's degree level in relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university
• Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by UGC like SLET/SET
• OR Candidates who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil./Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and their amendments from time to time are exempted from NET/SLET/SET
• For subjects where NET/SET is not conducted, Master's degree with 55% marks is essential

For Guest Faculty Position:

Essential Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in relevant subject with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade
• NET/SET qualified OR Ph.D. degree holder (as per UGC norms)
• Fresh candidates with NET/SET qualification are eligible
• Candidates with teaching experience will be preferred
• Retired professors/associate professors from universities/colleges are also eligible

Relaxation in Qualifications:

• A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) at Master's level shall be allowed to SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/Differently-Abled (PwD) categories
• NET/SLET/SET exemption for Ph.D. degree holders as per UGC regulations
• Candidates possessing qualifications under old UGC regulations equivalent to current regulations are also eligible
